The Harrison Volunteer Fire Department is accepting applications for new firefighters to serve the community. A bonus is currently being offered to college students and graduates who have unpaid tuition and student loans. Westchester county executive George Latimer has started a recruitment and retention program for volunteer fire departments and EMS agencies where members can receive up to $6,000 annually to pay off student loans and tuition costs.
Firefighters are also entitled to tons of amazing benefits as servants to the community. Some other examples of reasons to join: * NYS offers fire prevention and firefighter training courses that are free to members which can be used as college education credits. * Length of service awards are credited to members who serve as volunteers in their communities, which acts as a pension income upon retirement age. * Free life insurance * Disability rating upon separation
Harrison Fire Department wants YOU to make the difference today! Fill out an application on the HFD website or come in person to Harrison Fire Headquarters to pick up an application.
